Coming to Poitiers

Trains

Several TGVs run daily from Paris Montparnasse to Poitiers. Direct TGVs to Poitiers can also be caught at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport or at Lille Europe train station. Useful reminder: booking is compulsory before accessing a TGV.Cf. the SNCF website.

Planes

There are 4 weekly flights between Poitiers Airport and London Stansted operated by Ryanair. Taxis will take you to the city centre in about 20 minutes.

Travelling in Poitiers

Buses

From Poitiers train station you will find buses to take you to the city centre or the campus. All bus routes are operated by the same company : Vitalis.

Bus lines for the campus are number 1 and 9.

You can either purchase single ticket (€1.30) or books of 5 tickets (€5.50). These are available at authorized dealers’ (newsagents), at the‘Espace Bus’, 6 rue du Chaudron d'Or (up town) and at the regional ticket ATM (to be found in the main hall of the train station). Or you can get electronic tickets using to the Tick'easy app on the ‘e-boutique’.

By foot

Getting to the city centre from the train station is only a fifteen-minute-walk, using the escalators and stairs which are to be found on your left hand side when you exit the station main hall. On the other hand, walking from the city centre to the campus is not an option because of the distance.
